What to do in Lloret de Mar? Activities and places, you can’t miss

09.03.2020 Aktivitäten in Lloret

Lloret de Mar is a beautiful town located at the southern end of the Costa Brava. Its privileged location allows you to enjoy extensive beaches, hidden coves with crystal-clear water and beautiful buildings, the result of the Indian past and its modernist legacy.

As we don’t want you to miss the little treasures hidden in our territory, in this article on the blog of Rosamar Hotels we detail the 8 things that you can’t miss in Lloret de Mar.

1. Santa Clotilde Gardens.

Located on a cliff and with spectacular views of the Costa Brava, they become the jewel of the crown of Lloret de Mar. These gardens have more than 25,000 mthat follow the Italian Renaissance model, with overlaid terraces, paths that intersect, ramps, stairs, sculptures, fountains and ponds. The Santa Clotilde Gardens, a generosity of art and beauty, is recognized among the best historic Mediterranean-type gardens in Europe.

2. The best beaches and cove soft Lloret de Mar.

Do not miss the beauty of the cove Sa Caleta, surely one of the best beaches in Lloret de Mar. Located at the northern end of the beach promenade, its clear turquoise waters allow you to see and enjoy a seabed rich in wildlife. we cannot stop to recommending you Cala Sa Boadella. By being a little further away from the center, it is not so crowded. At the end of the beach, bounded by Rocks, is nudist, while at the other end there is a large viewpoint. It offers some services, as a beverage kiosk. Order an ice cream or beer and enjoy the beach of Lloret de Mar!

3. Coast walks of Lloret Mar.

Walking trought  coast path that pass througt Lloret de mar is one of the best activities you can do at any time of the year on the Costa Brava. If you start from Sa caleta bordering the Castle D’en plaja you can contemplate the rockycove Cala dels Frares , and finally you arrive to the beautifull  Cala of Trons. Another stretch we recommend is the south. After a few steps, you’ll reach to the most beautifull  view points of the city , were the Dona Marinera sculpture rests. Do you want a tip ? End this  journey at the magnificent bar terrace of Cala Banys with a good Daiquiri as a remembrance of the footprint that Cuba left in Lloret de Mar!

4. The Modernist Lloret.

At the end of 19th century, the splendor of Catalan modernism coincided with the return of many Indians, Catalans who were returning from Les Amèriques to their places of origin, charged with the fortunes they had made. It is curious that a clear exponent of these moments is the Cemetery of Lloret de Mar, in which the indianos entrusted pantheons and hypogeums to great architects like Puig I Cadalfach. We also recommend to visit the Casa Font, a lord house that has been renewed to show the esthetics of the time. And walking through the center of the town, pay attention to the Gothic church of Sant Romà, with its striking colored mosaics of its roofs and little towers of modernist style.

5. Aquatic activities.

If you visitLloret de Mar during the warmer months you can’t miss wide offer of activities that you can practice in the sea as Snorkeling, kayaking, Scuba diving. The Costa Brava is an ideal enclave to do these practices. Enjoy its seabed by snorkeling. It includes groups of cormorants and other water birds that live on our coast with calm kayak trips through its paradisiacal coves and inaccessible from the coast. And dive in the diving areas with varying degrees of difficulty, but always with clear waters that will allow you to discover our amazing marine fauna and flora.

6.Brave Path.

Are you passionate about open water swimming? If so, this public marine trail network will be the ideal scenario for you. These itineraries pass through the coastal walkways of the Costa Brava, and are flagged and marked for the safety of swimmers. Through these routes you can explore Lloret coast from the sea.

7. The weekly market in Lloret de Mar.

A beautiful reflection of a society is its flea market, and Lloret de Mar is not left behind. Every Tuesday from 9 am to 1pm,you will find it at Avinguda del Rieral, about 150 stops that make up the public market. You will find farmers with their vegetable garden products, artisans who sell their creations, clothing, household items and typical Costa Brava products, among others. Get lost and enjoy it!

8. The Lloret from other times.

Modernization has left many techniques and many buildings too much to explain to the younger ones how life was before. And that's why the Es Tint museum  was recovered, an establishment where fishermen's nets were dyed, when they were made of natural products such as hemp, sparta or cotton. Before, all coastal cities had a center for this use. On the Costa Brava we only recovered Can Perola de Calella de Palafrugell. Nor can you miss the Sea Museum. Located by the sea at Casa Garriga in the mid-19th century, this house has become a beautiful museum area that takes a tour of all time and all the disciplines that connected Lloret with the Sea.
