Hiking along the Costa Brava: Lloret De Mar walking routes

07.05.2020 Sport

In the past, the Costa Brava was a destination made up of fishing villages. Beautiful coastal villages with beaches full of boats and fishing houses. There are still corners in Lloret de Mar that maintain the essence of that time; such as the Es Tint building, where Lloret's fishermen used to dye their nets.

Lloret is currently an idyllic destination for outdoor sports lovers, and also a village that attracts thousands of tourists who want to enjoy our gastronomy and Mediterranean climate. In this post, we recommend you one of the best pathways that run along the Girona coast, a hiking trail in Lloret de Mar to discover its history, culture, nature and hidden beaches.

Camino de ronda in Lloret de Mar

The camino de ronda in Costa Brava is a coastal path that goes all the way Girona coastline, coastal paths that trace the Costa Brava from Lloret de Mar to Portbou. These walking trails used to be used by locals to move between coastal villages. Currently, they are the most spectacular walks on the Costa Brava, routes that give us the chance to discover dreamy coves and cliffs.

The level of difficulty of the Camino de ronda in Lloret will depend above all on the distance you want to cover, the stage you decide to take and your physical resistance. Easy trail to discover Lloret de Mar with your family and friends.

Lloret Beach - Sant Joan Castle

You can start the camino de ronda in Platja de Lloret de Mar, the largest and best-known beach in Lloret, also the closest to Rosamar Hotels.

After walking the entire promenade, follow the Mediterranean path (GR-92) until you reach the Dona Marinera monument. From the Dona Marinera you can enjoy panoramic views, an excellent lookout point to take the most beautiful pictures of your holidays in Lloret de Mar. Continue on GR-92, following the rocky Cala Banys and walk up to the mountain where the Castell de Sant Joan de Lloret is located. This castle is another point of interest in Lloret de Mar, it has a tower with spiral stairs that we encourage you to climb and observe its wonderful views.

Sant Joan’s Castle - Santa Clotilde Gardens

We are sure that once in the Sant Joan castle, you will want to continue enjoying the views. We recommend you to continue your hiking trail until the Santa Clotilde gardens, another spot that you cannot miss during your trip to Lloret de Mar. A breathtaking place in Lloret de Mar, next to the sea, where you can relax and take a peacefully walk.

To get to the Jardines de Santa Clotilde continue on route GR-92. Once at Fenals beach you can take a break and enjoy the sea breeze or take a dip. Enter the pine forest of Racó d’En Sureda and continue on GR 92, along carrer Pius Font i Quer, until you reach a roundabout with the exit to Passeig Jardins, where the entrance to the Santa Clotilde de Lloret gardens is located.

To go hiking in the Costa Brava we recommend that you wear the appropriate clothing at the time and the necessary equipment for low intensity hiking. You can go hiking in Lloret throughout the year, however, the best seasons are spring and autumn. During the summer it is highly recommended to avoid the hours of more intensity of sun and heat. Also, if you go during sunrise or sunset you will be able to enjoy an ideal light to take incredible photos.
