1. What is GR 92?
The GR 92 or Mediterranean Trail is the long-distance route that runs along paths and roads from the border with France to Andalusia, passing through Catalonia, the Valencian Community and Murcia.
Its name comes from the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, the year in which the stretch Catalan roahad to be finished. It is part of the E-12 European Long-Distance Trail, which links the Baltic Sea coast and the Mediterranean, passing through Croatia, Italy, France and Spain.
The stretch Catalan Road lie in 561 kilometers, from Portbou (Girona), on the border with France, to Ulldecona (Tarragona), bordering the Valencian Community. The Valencian route has a length of about 454 kilometers, following the Via Augusta, from Traiguera (Vinaroz) to Pilar de la Horadada (Alicante).
In the region of Murcia, the stretch is 163 kilometers from El Mojón (San Pedro del Pinatar) to Cuatro Calas (Águilas). And in Andalusia, the path leaves from San Juan de Terreros (Almería) and reaches Tarifa, although it is not fully signposted.
2. The GR 92 in Catalonia
The strech of the autonomous community of Catalonia runs through the Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà, La Selva, Maresme, Barcelonès, Baix Llobregat, Baix Penedès, Tarragonès, Baix Camp, Baixebre and Montsià regions.
The GR 92 route in Catalonia borders the Costa Brava (from Portbou to Blanes) passing through the Camí de Ronda path, where the civil guard made rounds to watch the smugglers and traffickers who reached the coast.

3. GR 92 in Lloret de Mar
In Lloret de Mar there are two GR 92 sections, one goes from Lloret de Mar to Tossa de Mar and the other goes from Lloret de Mar to Blanes, its two neighboring coastal towns.
The stretch from Lloret de Mar to Tossa de Mar (11.12 km) is a route full of slopes and cliffs that requires be in shape. The route goes across small wild coves of incomparable beauty. Once in this beautiful village, do not miss the opportunity to visit the emblematic Castle in Tossa de Mar.
The stretch from Lloret de Mar to Blanes (8.3 km) is said is one of the most beautiful on the Costa Brava.
