One of the most highly anticipated days for the people of Lloret de Mar is approaching, July 24th is celebrated the Santa Cristina day, patron saint of the town of Lloret de Mar.
The Santa Cristina festivity is one of the most outstanding summer local festivities. During this day are held, the procession to the chapel of Santa Cristina, the S'Amorra Amorra regatta, and the traditional Ball de Plaça in Plaza de la Vila.

On Saturday 23rd July at 10 p.m., there will be the first Santa Cristina workers parade through the main streets of the town announcing the next day's festivities. After this event, there will be a draw for the starting positions in the S'Amorra Amorra regatta and a sardana dance by the copla La Bisbal Jove.
On Sunday 24th July at 7:30 a.m., a second parade will take place through the streets of the town announcing the procession departure.
The event that kicks off the Santa Cristina festivities is the sea procession to the Santa Cristina chapel in Lloret de Mar. It will take place on Sunday 24th July at 8 a.m. from the church of Sant Romà to the beach of Lloret de Mar, where boats will continue the route to the Santa Cristina beach.
After singing the Salve Marinera, the traditional S'Amorra Amorra lute regatta will take place in the bay of Santa Cristina, in which different boats compete to reach the Santa Cristina beach first. This will be followed by a second regatta with female crew lutes.

Next, a procession will go up to the chapel accompanied by the Alba de Prima choir and a solemn mass will be given in the Santa Cristina chapel, located between Santa Cristina Beach and Cala Treumal. Following by a popular lunch with the traditional estofat in Plaça del Pi.
Around noon will begin the return of the Santa Cristina procession to Lloret de Mar beach and the parish church of Sant Romà.
At the same time, the traditional sailing regatta will start off from Santa Cristina beach to Lloret beach, the 48th S'Amorra Amorra Open cruise, organised by the Nautical Club Lloret.
On July 24th and 26th, the traditional Ball de Plaça, or Dansa de les Almorratxes will take place in Plaza de la Vila of Lloret de Mar. It is a traditional dance starring four couples chosen annually, followed by sardanas performed by La Bisbal Jove copla.
On Sunday 24th July, you can enjoy an open day at some of the Open Museum of Lloret (MOLL) places, such as Can Saragossa, the Santa Clotilde Gardens, the Maritime Museum, the Castle of Sant Joan and the Iberian settlement of Turó Rodó.
On Tuesday 26th July at 10:30 p.m. in the bay of Lloret de Mar there will be fireworks by Pirotecnia Valenciana, winner of the Blanes International Fireworks Competition in 2019.
