The Santa Clotilde Gardens (Passeig Jardins s/n) are on a cliff between Fenals and Sa Boadella beach in the town of Lloret de Mar.
These gardens of more than 25,000 m2 with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea were designed in 1919 by the architect Nicolau Rubió i Tudurí following the Italian Renaissance model. A perfect walk to discover the native Mediterranean flora and see the sculptures and ponds which give to the gardens a magical fairy-tale atmosphere.
The gardens open at 10am from Monday to Sunday and the admission is 6€ for adults, 3€ with the reduced rate and free for children under 12 and residents with the Open Museum of Lloret (MOLL) card.
The spectacular old town walled enclosure of Tossa de Mar has become a true emblem of the town, is declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931. Its beauty has turned the cobbled streets of the fortification into a perfect walk with your couple.
Built during the 12th and 14th centuries as a defence against pirate raids, it is the only example of a fortified medieval town that remains on the Catalan coast. Over the years, the fortification has been attacked, rebuilt, and remodelled, although almost all its original perimeter with its crenelated walls is still preserved.
The enclosure has a privileged view of the Tossa bay, the beach of Es Codolar, and the old church of Sant Vicenç stands out. At the height of its splendour in the 15th century, the old town comprised some eighty houses, most of which used the walls as a back wall. It was from the 16th century onwards that the town began to expand outside the walls.
On the coastal path that runs alongside the residential area of S'Agaró (municipality belonging to Castell d'Aro, in the Baix Empordà) is the S'Agaró Viewpoint, an original gazebo made up of six columns.
It is located next to a small square, the Plaza del Mirador, at one end of the coastline called Punta de Pau, lined with stately houses and luxurious resident areas a romantic corner where couples take the opportunity to take pictures.
The coastal path that goes from Sant Pol beach to Sa Conca beach is one of the most well-cared and comfortable on the Costa Brava. It is perfect for taking a walk and enjoying the spectacular Catalan coastline scenery.
In the region of Baix Empordà is one of the few fishing villages on the Costa Brava that still preserves the atmosphere breathed in the villages of the area, Calella de Palafrugell.
This town is located on a rocky coast formed by small coves and charming narrow streets, houses with sloping tile roofs and some traditional two-storey fishermen's houses have led this coastal village to obtain the "Charming village" seal granted by the Catalan Tourism Agency.
To the south of the town is the Cap Roig Botanical Garden, considered one of the best gardens in the Mediterranean, with an area of approximately 20 hectares and more than 800 botanical species from all over the world. A perfect place to visit with your couple on the Costa Brava!
One of the most beautiful places of the Mediterranean coast is the town of Cadaqués, in the Alt Empordà region. It is not surprising that artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dalí or Federico García Lorca fell in love with the magic of this place.
This fishing village of white houses located in the bay of Cadaqués has survived the passing of the years and preserve all its beauty. The church of Santa María stands between some steeps, narrow streets and alleys paved with flagstones and slate stones.
And all this in an abrupt and rocky Mediterranean Sea landscape, the Cap de Creus, one of the most emblematic natural areas of the Costa Brava.
Also known as the Castle of Forcadell, the Castle of Sant Joan is located on top of the hill with the same name in the town of Blanes. Built in the mid-13th century to guard against pirate raids at sea, it consisted of a walled enclosure with a 15-meter-high tower with a cylindrical base.
The castle lost its strategic importance from the end of the 15th century and was abandoned until a military optical telegraphy station was installed in the mid-19th century. Later, it was used as a shelter during the Spanish civil war.
Being located 173 meters above sea level, one of the best views of the town and its coastal outline. You can also see the Gavarres mountains, the coastal mountain range, the Montseny and even the silhouette of Montjuic in Barcelona.
S'Alguer is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and at the same time romantic coves on the Costa Brava. This small cove, 30 meters long by 4 meters wide, is in the town of Palamós, between the Castell beach and La Fosca beach, and was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1972.
A few meters from the sand, with a large white and gray rocks, there is a group of white houses with the typical architecture formed with a large wooden doors painted in different colours and, in front of them there are the typical Costa Brava fishing boats.
One of the best places to see this picturesque cove is the Pineda d'en Gori, which is found along the coastal path from Palamós towards the Castell beach.
