The hermitage that was initially there was rebuilt in 1789 following the Baroque style. In 1860, Nicolau Font i Maig, from Lloret, acquired the monastery and converted it into the current stately estate of great historical and heritage interest. In honor of his generosity and patrimonial contribution, in 1911 a marble monument to Nicolau Font i Maig was erected in the Sant Pere del Bosc square.
Today we find a large building made up of the chapel, the room, the asylum and various rooms. Attached to the right of the chapel is the former house of Nicolau Font, which is currently a restaurant; while on the left is the asylum of Sant Pere del Bosc.
The environment of the Sant Pere del Bosc Sanctuary is completely meditative, perfect for walking and discovering corners such as the Angel monument or the Creu de Terme.
On Avenida de les Alegries, located in the center of the town, is an authentic jewel of modernist art and one of the main examples of 19th century funerary art in Catalonia, the modernist cemetery of Lloret de Mar.
This quiet place inspired by a small town for the deceased is worth visiting for its high historical, artistic and ethnographic value. It was reformed at the end of the 19th century thanks to the Indians, who commissioned the project to the architect Joaquim Artau i Fàbregas.
