The festa major of Sant Romà will be held from Thursday 10 to Sunday 27 November in the town of Lloret de Mar. During these days, all kinds of activities and events will take place to celebrate the town's winter festivities. Keep reading to discover them!
On Thursday, November 10 at 8:30 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall of the Lloret de Mar Library, the proclamation of the festivities was held, the act that begins the festa major of Sant Romà de Lloret de Mar, by Maria Àngels Font Caballeria.
On the weekend of November 12 and 13, the Medieval Fair of Lloret de Mar was held in the center of the town, one of the most anticipated activities of the autumn season, where there are representations of legends, magic, handicraft stalls and demonstrations of old trades, among others.
On Friday, November 18 at 12 noon, a solemn mass will be celebrated in the parish church of Lloret de Mar in honor of Sant Romà martir. The Alba Prima choir will sing with organ accompaniment, the giants and the “mulassa” (mule) of the Colla Gegantera of Lloret de Mar will dance at the altar of the parish and a handkerchief made by the lacemakers of the municipality will be delivered to the giant Blanca Dawn. At the end of the mass, sardanas (typical regional dance) will be danced by the copla La Bisbal Jove in the church square.
The first concert of the festivities will take place on Thursday, November 17 at 8:00 p.m. at the Evenia Hotel by the Selvatana orchestra. At 11pm, in this same space, this orchestra will also be in charge of the festa major dance.
On Friday, November 18, starting at 9:00 p.m. in the Germinal Ros square (next to the Lloret de Mar Municipal Market) the “nit jove” concerts will begin, with performances by Jana Torras i Marta Vendrell, Xavier Fornaguera, Vienna and Doctor Prats.
At 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, there will be a choral concert by the Arsnovalloret choir, which will feature the Cypsella choir from Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the El Gínjol youth choir from Maçanet de la Selva, in the parish of Sant Romà. And starting at 9 pm in the Germinal Ros square, the second night of the “nit jove” will be held with performances by Dani Muses Band, Els Catarres and Tapeo Sound System.
On Sunday, November 20 at 4:00 p.m., the Tot Cor choir and the Es Vano group of havaneras, from the Casal Municipal de la Gent Gran, will perform in the multipurpose room of the House of Culture in Lloret de Mar.
Admission to all these concerts and performances of the festa major de Sant Romà is completely free.
On Friday, November 11 there will be children's games and inflatables from 11 am to 2 pm in the town's Pere Torrent square.
From Friday the 11th to Sunday the 20th of November, an amusement fair will be installed in the car park of Lloret de Mar’s sports area.
On Sunday, November 20, there will be a percussion show and a timpani creation workshop for children in the Germinal Ros square at 12:15 p.m. It will be organized by the percussion group Kala Trons and all the necessary material to carry out the workshop will be provided.
On Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November, a chess tournament will be held at El Puntet (Av. de Vidreres, 58) at 10:30 a.m. The competition is organized by the Club Escacs Lloret and places are limited.
On Sunday, November 20, the 2nd edition of the Corriols de l'Àvia cycling march will be held, organized by the Penya Ciclista Lloret.
