Each season offers a different way to enjoy Lloret de Mar, one of the most iconic towns on the Costa Brava. We recommend three must-see celebrations: the Fair of the Americans in June, the Santa Cristina festivity in July, and the Sant Romà festivity in November. Three must-see events that will let you experience the true essence of Lloret de Mar and its traditions.
Every year in mid-June, Lloret de Mar celebrates Fair of the Americans an event that brings to life the fascinating history of the “Indianos” or “Americans”, locals from Lloret who emigrated to the Americas in the 18th and 19th centuries in search of fortune and new opportunities.
The fair transforms Lloret de Mar’s town centre and seafront promenade into a scene from the past, with cultural activities, craft workshops, live music, and historical reenactments that take locals and visitors back to the Indianos era.
Those who returned from the Americas with newfound wealth left their mark by building impressive colonial-style mansions. They also funded works of great social value, such as schools, hospitals, and the reconstruction of the Church of Sant Romà. Landmark buildings such as Can Font (the only Indianos-style house museum in Catalonia) and the Monastery of Sant Pere del Bosc keep this legacy alive.
Fair of the Americans is the perfect opportunity to discover how these adventurers profoundly shaped Lloret de Mar’s architecture, culture, and social life.

One of Lloret de Mar’s most popular celebration is Santa Cristina festivity (“festa major”), held each year around 24 July in honour of the town’s patron saint, Santa Cristina. During this summer festival, the town dresses up for the occasion and offers activities for all ages, blending tradition, culture, and fun.
Among the highlights is the spectacular maritime procession to the hermitage of Santa Cristina. This is followed by the traditional S’Amorra Amorra sailboat regatta in Santa Cristina Bay, an historic competition that symbolises Lloret de Mar’s deep connection with the sea and its fishing heritage.
Another unmissable moment is the Ball de Plaça or Dansa de les Almorratxes, followed by sardanas, filling the squares with music and dance.
In November, Lloret de Mar celebrates Sant Romà festivity (“festa major”), the town’s most important winter festival. It’s a wonderful chance to enjoy a more authentic Lloret de Mar, with a calmer atmosphere than in summer and a packed programme of activities.
Festivities begin with the opening proclamation, accompanied by percussion parades and giants through the streets of the town centre. One of the most anticipated moments is the Medieval Fair, featuring legend reenactments, magic shows, craft stalls, and demonstrations of traditional trades.
There are also free concerts, the solemn mass at the Church of Sant Romà, sardanas, and guided visits to the Can Font house museum. Families can enjoy children’s activities and shows, as well as sports competitions such as swimming, chess, cycling, and mountain routes.
