The beach has the Blue Flag distinction, an award given annually by the Environmental Education Foundation to beaches that meet a series of environmental conditions and facilities, including showers with foot washes and even a beach bar.

Among them is Sahara, directed by Breck Eisner and starring Penélope Cruz and Matthew McConaughey, whose final scenes were filmed in this unique location.
