Lloret de Mar

The northern coast of Lloret de Mar and Fenals beach offer different enclaves for divers of all levels to practice diving.

On the beach of Sa Caleta there is a shallow area with good visibility, ideal for baptism diving or beginner divers, where you can see many marine animals, including various species of fish, octopus, prawns and eels.

The barra de Fenals, the Els Bullents reefs or the Muladera Rock are other diving spots to discover in the town of Lloret de Mar, with well-preserved sea beds and a great variety of life.

The town of Blanes, at the southern end of the Costa Brava, has wide beaches and coves ideal for diving.

If you want to get started in the exciting world of diving, one of the best places to do your first dive is the Santa Anna cove, located very close to the port area of the town.

Other diving spots worth discovering in the area are La Seca, La Nacra, L’Espina, Niel de San Francesc, S'Esquinça, S'Agulla or Ca l'Alonso, located to the north of the town.

Illes Medes

Illes Medes are one of the most important marine flora and fauna reserves in the western Mediterranean. To guarantee the conservation of its seabed, all dives in the area are regulated and it is necessary to obtain a permit to dive.

It is a place that has aroused the curiosity of divers from all over the world. In its rocky bottoms you can find groupers weighing more than thirty kilos, large schools of fish, underwater tunnels and caves, such as the Cova de la Vaca or the Túnel del Dofí, among other unique diving spots.

It is not allowed to do diving baptisms or initial training in the Illes Medes, so if you are an inexperienced diver, you will have to look for another place to start in this exciting world.

Illes Medes Costa Brava

L'Escala is located on the north of the Montgrí, Illes Medes and Baix Ter natural park. A population surrounded by spectacular cliffs where you will find different enclaves where you can immerse yourself.

In this area there are some easily accessible places with a high concentration of underwater life at shallow depths, perfect for those who want to do their first dive.

The Baix de Cols, Cala Farriol or the Cova de Cala Viuda, are some of the best-known diving spots in the area. On its seabed you can see a wide variety of species, caves, sunken ships (such as the Cotentin or the Marmoler), and even archaeological remains of the old port of Empúries.

The town of Roses, in Alt Empordà, is the place that marks the limit between Golf de Roses, to the south, and Cap de Creus, to the north.

In the area of Cap Falcó and Cap Norfeu you can find dives for all levels. Cala Montjoi and Cala Jòncols are two exceptional enclaves on the Costa Brava for scuba diving. They are located in a virgin area protected from the tramontana wind, so they have always been a good place to anchor boats and practice diving.

In this area of the reserve of the Cap de Creus natural park you will find a seabed with extensive walls of gorgonians and a varied fauna native to the area, such as lobsters, moray eels or conger eels.

Cap de Creus Costa Brava

In the heart of Cap de Creus is the town of Cadaqués. Under the waters of its beaches and crystalline coves you will find some of the best diving spots on the Costa Brava.

Its unbeatable location in the Cap de Creus natural park and the great biodiversity of its waters make it an ideal place to start in the world of diving, either with a baptism or with an initiation course.

The most experienced cannot miss the remains of Greek, Roman and Phoenician shipwrecks in Cala Culip; the Cova del Corall, considered one of the best dives in Cap de Creus, and Ses Ielles, where you can find sponges, conger eels, groupers and light-loving, brown and red algae.
